Trond Solberg works exclusively in wood. He is

particularly interested in the borderland between

architecture and sculpture, working with wood

technology and joints on a large scale. He

initiates projects in various places. He has for

instance organised a festival for wood sculpture

and innovative wood architecture. When

undertaking projects, he likes to use materials

that would otherwise go to waste or that no-one

wants – a reflection on nature and non-nature.

He is interested in constructions in and around

nature, and also community constructions.

At the workshop he put together an installation

on the theme of “No”. Among other things, he

had collected podcasts and music that had “no”

as their theme, and planned to play them at the

opening of the exhibition. He saw this work as a

utopian colony and argued that we should try

saying “no” more often. He created two large

objects with the aim of establishing a landmark

for satellites. The installation was in the shape of

an N and an O.
